From polyester to Jio: 50 years of Reliance Industries

"For Reliance... data is the new oil, and intelligent data is the new petrol," Mukesh Ambani said explaining his drive to move closer to India's consumers.
Today as thousands of customers throng to telecom stores to get their Jio sim, Reliance Industries have seen over 50 years, from a polyester business to providing India the best telecom rates a company has ever offered. 
One company insider even said the Jio logo is actually a mirror image of the word 'oil,' reflecting in a way Reliance's journey from oil drilling to data mining.
